M F Hussein’s Hypocrisy…. Judge Yourself

And, of course, of all those who plead Hussein ‘Not Guilty’ in the name of Art & freedom of expression!

If a person dresses like a Sikh Guru, thousands of Sikhs gather and destroy their establishments, threaten to kill him, announce a bounty on his head – Sikhs are not criticized for being communal and intolerant.

If a Danish journalist depicts the Prophet of the Muslims, Muslims all over the world rise in anger, there is violence, a booty on the head of the Journalist – Muslims are not criticized for being communal and intolerant.

If MF Hussain draws paintings depicting Hindu Gods and Goddesses in sexual positions (which relations are not borne out by ancient texts at all ) and Hindus merely protest, they are called communal, intolerant and taught lessons in secularism by one and all.

The problem apparently is not with Sikhs and Muslims, it is with Hindus, because we are not violent, we accept what ever is dished out to us, we do not have the guts to say that this is wrong, we seek acceptance from outsiders rather than from our conscience. We worship the same Gods and Goddesses but don’t stand up for them when the time comes.

If you believe Hussein is wrong, forward this message.

Be a judge yourself of Hussein’s paintings below.

Full Clad Muslim King and naked Hindu Brahmin

Full Clad Muslim King and naked Hindu Brahmin. The above painting clearly indicates Hussein’s tendency to paint any Hindu as naked and thus his hatred.

Naked Bharatmata

Naked Bharatmata – Hussein has shown naked woman with names of states written on different parts of her body. He has used Ashok Chakra, Tri-colour in the painting. By doing this he has violated law & hurt National Pride of Indians. Both these things should be of grave concern to every Indian irrespective of his religion.

Out of the four leaders M. Gandhi is decapitated and Hitler is naked

Out of the four leaders M. Gandhi is decapitated and Hitler is naked. Hussein hates Hitler and has said in an interview 8 years ago that he has depicted Hitler naked to humiliate him and as he deserves it ! How come Hitler’s nudity cause humiliation when in Hussein’s own statement nudity in art depicts purity and is in fact an honor ! This shows Hussein’s perversion and hypocrisy.

Don’t feel shy to circulate. At least people should know.

we are not in position to comment on great painter like M.F Hussain but by seeing this picture above i feel to express my view. Thought i am not Hindu by religion but the way our legend painted on goddess like SITA, SARASWATI, parvati, lakshmi, durga….
and god RAMA and hanuman etc, is thought provoking. Moreover he painted naked only to picture related to HINDU which so his perversion and hypocrisy.
In fact India is secular country where freedom of expression is given maximum freedom but it doesn’t meant that on the name of freedom of art we should cross the limit and go beyond the limit.

    Hi,

Though I agree with you that Hindus are not “violent” as you put it, I disagree that we need to copy Muslims and threaten 90 year old guys like Hussein with murder just to get out point across. Can you imagine a religion like Hinduism, the tradition that goes back to the very beginnings of civilization, trying to pick up some cheap tricks of getting attention from a religion which is merely 1400 hundreds old, and which does not even worship a original God: they borrowed Yehwah from Judaisn etc.

What I am saying is, lets not be copycats. Lets have the spirit of freedom in religion and religios expression, which includes artistic expression, which has been part of India for thousands of years. The Sikhs are being ignorant of everything their religion stands for, lets not take the worst example as a good example from them.

ALl in all I am saying that let the painter paint his paintings. Dont take it too heart. How else would we be proud of Ajanta and Ellora if not by freedom from censorship?

How about we don’t give a shit about someone who couldn’t draw? Also, how about not speaking ill of the dead (I know these were posted prior to his death).

After hearing both sides of the issue, I do believe that MF Hussein was an artist of gifted talent. However, just like all human being, he made mistakes. I personally believe that a FEW of his thousands of paintings like the ones shown on your site are inappropriate. We must all learn to respect each other’s faith and I think Hussein did not show adequate respect when he made such controversial paintings. Yet, I feel the mistakes should not take away from the undeniable talent that he had as a painter.
